THE DASY
FUZZ FACE CLONE
The Dasy takes it's name from the family 'Dasyuridae', a unique collection of Australian carnivorous marsupials that include the Tasmanian Devil, the Quoll and Mulgara. We are choosing to pronounce Dasy as Daisy because, well it's cute, just like the Tasmanian Devil. The Dasy however is anything but cute and will scream well into the night, just like our little furry little friends.
The Van Diemens Dasy fuzz pedal is based on the classic 2 transistor Arbitor Fuzz Face but with of course, our own touches added. These pedals can come with a variety of options, but all are created with 60s and 70's NOS or reclaimed germanium transistors and NOS or reclaimed capacitors and resistors. We use a choice of classic germanium transistors that can include, depending on availability, AC128's, AC125's NKT278's, NKT212's and NKT72's, or a mixture of the above.
These components are hand wired, point to point on a board that roughly resembles the original PCB however it is not PCB, more a hand made perf board. Each pedal comes with an external 9 Volt socket as standard.
There are also a couple of options for finish colour that include both traditional hammer paint, and powdercoat. Be aware that the traditional hammer paint can take quite a while to cure depending on the weather and time of year.
You may also request on/off battery switches, a bias control and tone switching options.
Prices start from US$325.00
It is recommended you read our Terms & Conditions page prior to purchasing an item from Van Diemens Analogue Audio Disruptors . It's not scary, just good information to be aware of.
